VP and Managing Director, Core
Position Summary:
The position of the VP and Managing Director of Core will be responsible for all aspects of the Core Group organization, including but not limited to creating and managing the organization’s P&L, Board of Directors, Marketing, Supplier Portfolio, Sales and coordination of ancillary programs, contract administration, and member engagement.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Core Management
- Manage a contract team to Identify, negotiate and close contracts/agreements with service providers providing value-added products and services to the membership;
- Develop and execute Core related strategies, growth plans, programs, and functions to achieve sales Core revenue targets and identify key metrics to measure progress;
- Define and implement Core operations tools, processes, and infrastructure to organize the group for success, transparency, alignment and execution;
- Be accountable for the oversight of key Core partnerships and alliances and support Core business development efforts;
- Be accountable for the definition and management of the Core supplier rebate, operations, and overall budgets with guidance from the CBO, CEO, and Controller;
- Act as a liaison for Core relationships and Core Affiliate Associations;
- Serve as a corporate officer on the Core Board of Directors and administer all board meetings and functions, all Core Ad-hoc Committee Meetings and Supplier Roundtable Discussions; and
- Establish and implement plans to achieve short- and long-range goals and objectives, including establishing appropriate policies and operating procedures.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Core, Sales and Membership team.
- Effectively foster a positive and inclusive culture and working environment emphasizing the company core values.
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on achieving business objectives.
Supplier Contract and Agreement Management
- Follow market conditions, price trends, or future markets in order to conduct the more complicated or crucial acquisitions to the portfolio;
- Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service, and other factors and stay informed of changes that may affect supply and demand in their industry;
- Identify potential new contracts based upon Member Company needs/requests and feasibility; and
- Work with Director of Contracts in negotiations of Supplier contracts, including drafting RFPs/contracts, setting up timelines, pulling together Ad-hoc Committee members, and acting as point-of-contact between Committee and RFP participants.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field is required.
- Minimum of 12 years’ of experience working in progressive management is required; and
- Experience covering analysis and planning strategy, development and implementation of programs, and reporting and controlling results
- Outstanding leadership skills and ability to build relationships across the organization;
- Strong ability to set clear measurable objectives, delegate responsibility, differentiate performance, reward and recognize outstanding performance, and take appropriate actions to correct low performance;
- Solid ability to formulate long term sales strategies and brand value propositions;
- Ability to innovate and reorder elements while handling multiple projects simultaneously;
- Ability to generate new ideas and implement with overall organizational goals in mind as well as take advantage of emerging opportunities;
- Ability to effectively negotiate for products and services;
- Exhibit a high level of confidentiality and demonstrate solid ethical business practices at all times;
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, intellectually agile and a logical thinker who can work through complex business issues and make decisions quickly;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to sell strategies throughout the organization and generate excitement, passion, and commitment;
- High competency in managing resources and projects to achieve goals with attention to detail, commitment to timing and within the frame of available resources; and
- Be a well-rounded team player.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $250,000 – $350,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education etc. Biocom California is a multi-state and multi-regional employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states and regions.
